Calculators are automated lookup tables. A calculator can produce results that have not been produced before, but this is not knowledge. This is because the person who wrote the algorithm knows exactly the logic and can predict the output for any given input.
Artificial Intelligence, is like a smarter robot. It learns how to solve problems by looking at many examples. However, it cannot think beyond the set of data it was trained on.
Artificial General Intelligence, isn't just about having answers for everything. It's more sophisticated and human-like in behavior. A true AGI has the freedom to decide how it responds: it can choose not to answer a question, give a wrong answer on purpose, or even act like a hermit.
